Why WitWorks? Because Real Growth at Work Should Feel Human
WitWorks Workshop at The Ohio State University
April 2025
Let’s be honest
Most workplace development efforts don’t really develop people. You know what I am talking about. A slide deck with some buzzwords. A half-hearted team outing. A shared pizza... For people to genuinely connect and grow, they need more. Here at WitWorks, we create learning experiences with impact. Our training and workshops are fresh, human, and genuinely effective. By blending the power of improvisation with the science of learning and development, we help teams build trust, leaders grow with confidence, and organizations shift into healthier, more connected cultures.
People Are Craving Something Deeper at Work
The 2024 Qualtrics Employee Experience Survey revealed what we see here at WitWorks every day; employees want more than perks and pizza parties. They want to use their unique strengths, to be heard, and to see real action in response. They want opportunities for growth and coaching, and to feel respected and psychologically safe. So where pizza parties fall short, we thrive. At WitWorks we design custom team building and accelerated leadership programs that address these needs.
How do we do it?
We don’t use improv to entertain, we use it because it works. The entertainment part is true and unavoidable though, but WHY NOT have fun while learning? Applying real improv games, exercises, and theory to workplace training allows us to address the most needed workplace and leadership skillsets out there:
Listening actively
Collaborating in the moment
Adapting to change
Taking creative risks
Supporting others authentically
And it does all of that while building trust through shared experience and vulnerability. Nothing accelerates connection like shared vulnerability. As Dr. Brené Brown reminds us, “Vulnerability is the birthplace of innovation, creativity, and change.” In our workshops, participants are invited, never forced, into moments of openness, laughter, and risk-taking, all in a safe, structured environment. That kind of shared vulnerability creates psychological safety, which research has shown is the number one factor in high-performing teams. It also supports how adults actually learn. As Peter Senge, author of The Fifth Discipline, says, “People don’t resist change. They resist being changed without their participation.” That’s why our sessions are interactive, participatory, and grounded in real challenges, not just ideas on paper. People leave not just feeling energized but with tools they can use immediately.
We’re not here to give you a one-size-fits-all workshop. We’re here to help you shift how your people lead, collaborate, and connect, long after we leave the room. (So basically we're here for a good time AND a long time…) Here’s how we do it:
Custom-fit learning experiences: Every engagement is tailored to your people and your goals. Whether it’s a one-time team building session or a multi-session accelerated leadership program.
Playful, experiential, and high-impact: Our improv-based approach builds skills through laughter, experimentation, and real-time reflection. It's fun, but never fluff.
Grounded in psychological safety: We create brave, inclusive spaces where people can be real, take risks, and show up fully. Because without trust, learning can’t happen.
Practical and workplace-ready: Everything we teach connects back to real-world applications, whether it's navigating conflict, giving feedback, leading with empathy, or showing up more effectively in meetings.
We’re Here to Make Work Feel More Human
When we first started WitWorks, we considered naming the business “Improv for Humans”, but that was already taken by comedian Matt Besser. Though it's not in our name, the "human” part is a huge part of what drives us. We believe people at every level of an organization should have access to meaningful development; learning fueled by joy, connection, and even self-discovery. If you’re ready to invest in your humans in a way that transforms the way they lead, collaborate, and show up, Let’s talk. Reach out to WitWorks today.
